Fees and Water Charges

The Water Service Regulatory Board a new tariff Structure for Kericho Water and Sanitation Company Limited (KEWASCO) in line with Water Act 2002 Section 73 (5) <>By Extension Therefore KEWASCO gives Notice to all Existing and potential water and sewerage customers of KEWASCO that the Structure of Approved Tariff for Water Services  for the  Financial Year 2022/23 and 2024/25 is as follows.

1.2    Sewerage Tariff for Period 2022/2023 to 2024/2025

(a) Customers with water connection

Sewerage will be charged at 75% of the water volumes. Billed at the tariff for water specified (in 1.1) above for all customer categories.

(b) Customers with no water connection:

Sewerage Consumers without a water connection shall be charged as follows:

  1.    Single dwelling domestic unit: KSh. 300 per month
  2.    All other categories: 75% of volume of water used as per the metered source at the tariff specified (in 1.1) above.

Note: All Disconnected Accounts (water only, sewer only and water+sewer shall be charged based on the average of the last three months before disconnection

Resale at Kiosk Regulate resale by kiosk vendors at KSh. 2 per 20-litres. Tariffs at kiosks must be displayed at strategic points for public awareness

(a) Performance Evaluation: Performance targets to be met and ascertained by WASREB, at the end of the 1st year of the tariff period. Non-achievement of the set targets without justifiable cause shall lead to penalty.

(b) Regulatory Levy: The WSP shall remit the regulatory levy on a monthly basis being 1 per cent of the Billings as per Legal Notice No. 36 of 2008.
